How to Make a Cinderella Costume
Do you want to be a princess, but have no fairy godmother? Well, you are in luck because with the following instructions you can transform yourself into Prince Charming’s perfect fairy tale Cinderella on your own at home. Best of all, you won’t turn into a pumpkin when the clock strikes midnight!
Things You’ll Need:
Clear Dress Shoe
Blue Satin Ribbon
Putting your Cinderella Costume Together:
Step 1: First things first, every good princess needs the right gown. Look at second hand shops for a light blue prom or bridesmaid dress. It should have a full skirt and puffy sleeves.
Step 2: In Cinderella’s case the shoes really make the outfit. Naturally, you won’t be able to wear a glass slipper, but a few years back clear plastic dress shoes were all the rage. Look online and in second hand stores for a pair of clear dress shoes.
Step 3: Cinderella had blonde hair, so if you don’t have blonde hair you will need to buy a wig. The wig should have bangs and be formed into an updo. Cinderella also wore a blue satin headband. Rather than searching high and low for one you can easily make your own. Take any wide width headband and wrap it with blue satin ribbon.
Step 4: You can complete Cinderella’s look with a pair of gloves. The gloves should be white and they should be long in length. You can also wear a little red lipstick and blush as a finishing touch.
